Building a Stronger Business

Building a business is a journey full of challenges and opportunities, and along the way, I’ve learned some invaluable lessons that have shaped both my approach to leadership and the way I run Spader Group.

One of the most important lessons was realizing the power of delegation. In the early days, I tried to handle everything myself, but that quickly led to burnout and slowed down our growth. I soon discovered that effective delegation wasn’t just about offloading tasks; it was about empowering my team to take ownership of their roles and contribute meaningfully to the company’s success.

Hiring the right people at the right time also became a critical factor in our growth. It’s not just about finding someone with the right skill set—it’s about finding individuals who align with your company’s values and vision. Timing is everything. Hiring too early or too late can create issues, but bringing in the right talent when the business is ready to grow is key to taking things to the next level.

One of the hardest transitions for me personally was stepping fully into the role of CEO. Letting go of the day-to-day operations and focusing on the bigger picture was tough, but it was necessary. As a leader, I had to focus on vision and strategy, guiding the company’s overall direction while trusting my team to execute. Learning to let go allowed me to steer the business toward bigger goals.

Through various challenges, I’ve also learned that adaptability is crucial. Whether it was navigating the impacts of COVID-19 or adjusting to new industry trends, staying flexible and agile has allowed us to continue thriving. Having systems in place that allowed us to pivot when needed has been a huge part of our success.

Lastly, continuous learning has been a cornerstone of long-term success for me and Spader Group. No matter what stage your business is in, there’s always something new to learn. By reflecting on what works, seeking new strategies, and being open to growth, we’ve stayed ahead of the curve. It’s this mindset of always learning and improving that has helped me as a leader and has kept Spader Group moving forward.

Looking ahead, I’m excited about what’s to come. The lessons I’ve learned in leadership, delegation, and business strategy have not only shaped Spader Group’s journey but have also given me the tools to guide other entrepreneurs toward their own success.
